Anthony Roberts was convicted of the attempted murder of a 71-year-old woman in Kleve Walk, Worcester city centre in May 2023.
He had previous convictions for attempted murder in 1991, gross indecency with a child in 1982 and other convictions for sexual offences in 1983, 1984 and 1985.
At the time of the Worcester attempted murder Anthony Roberts had just been released from a life sentence five months earlier.
When he was arrested the police found pornography being streamed on a television as well as 'Jack the Ripper material' in which he had made notes.
